Gemma Aymerich from the Oceansub diving center in l'Estartit, Elisenda Giró from the Sotamar Diving center in Cadaqués, Erika López from the Andrea's Diving center in Tossa de Mar and Ana Mata from the Begur Dive center, located in Aiguablava, have been awarded the Honorary Award Jordi Comas. This recognition, granted by the Girona-Costa Brava Tourism Board as part of the Gi Awards, celebrates the dedication, effort and contribution of these women, with trajectories of up to 20 years, in the world of diving in Costa Brava.
The Association of Diving Centers of the Costa Brava, which promoted the candidacy, especially highlights its commitment, passion and leadership that have not only contributed to the growth of diving on the Costa Brava, but have paved the way by promoting the presence of women in a sector where it has historically been a minority.
The Association wants to demonstrate its commitment to gender equality and recognize the valuable contribution of women to the tourism and diving sector.
The predominantly female presence on the board of directors of the association, with Miriam Prat as president, is a reflection of a positive change in the sector, although currently only 7 diving centers of the 38 members of the entity have a female director.
We hope that this recognition will serve as inspiration for future generations of female divers and entrepreneurs.
Congratulations to the winners for this well-deserved prize!
